PPD Fail on First Attempt - Retake or Schedule PDD?
-
You make a good point about 60 days probably being too much time to spend on PPD alone. What you might consider doing to make the most of your time:
Address PPD immediately. Review your score report and review the areas you are weakest in first. While the exam is fresh in your mind, jot down notes about anything that seemed unfamiliar, and then hit those topics. If you didn't take the practice exam provided by NCARB, make sure to do that before you retake PPD. Spend at least a few days reviewing. You will need to be the judge as to how much review is necessary. Then, of course, review the materials again in the days leading up to the exam.
Start studying for PDD during the next 60 days. I took both PPD and PDD, and I will echo what others are saying on here that yes, there is overlap.

Hello Danielle,
So I had failed my PPD and had PDD scheduled one week after; I felt nervous so I pushed it out another week and just focused on PDD content for those 2 weeks. While I took the PDD exam, I felt discouraged but kept at it, one question at a time, thinking if nothing else, I will gain more testing practice. Fortunately, I passed it. And it was my first try at PDD. There is a lot of overlap and I was glad that I took PDD so that it is now done and I can just focus these 6 weeks on PPD. Best of luck to you!!
