I have been through it. It is pretty good. Not as Thorough in Section 3 as I would have liked. And there was a LOT of repetition within the material, which made it a bit of a slog to get through. However, AEP paired with Black Spectacle I think is a good prep, though it is a lot of material, with very little overlap.

Another really good question for those who bought it, how does the Ballast sections line-up with this ;)

I've found Ballast is terrible all the way around.  I have the entire 4.0 Ballast and I've found the practice questions do not resemble ARE questions at all.  Designer Hacks was great for PPP for me.

Having taken both PPD and PDD and used the Ballast practice tests for both (though I did not use their study material), I agree that the Ballast practice tests resemble the actual ARE almost not at all (though a few questions surprisingly do).

To make these practice tests more helpful to you, think of them as (a) practice at answering hard questions and choosing the best available answer and (b) more of a tool to shine a light on your areas of weakness. No, they are not good practice tests in the sense that they resemble the ARE, but they are still good study tools to help you find where you need to direct your final bits of studying.

Clifton & Michael, in studying the AEP study material for PPD, most content is similar or exact material found in 4.0 Site Planning and Design and/or PPP. Over 1/3 of the study material for AEP is also found in previous study material for 4.0 SPD and PPP. There is plenty of discussion in the 5.0 community about Ballast BDCS, BS, and SS being used for study but few if not any have mentioned previous material of SPD and PPP being used for PPD. Did you find this beginning material in AEP (first 100+ pages) that pertains to Site Planning relevant in preparing and taking PPD?

    Michael,

Yes, the material is largely just 4.0 material repackaged.

That said, I absolutely found the SPD and PPP material useful, even though I had just taken those tests, on the PPD test. In fact, I had a question on the PPD which was almost word for word from the first few pages of the AEP PPD material.
