I Failed Again!
This is my first time making a post after being on this journey for the past 6 years. I'm exhausted but still moving forward!
This past Saturday was my 3rd time taking Project Managment, but my 7th time taking the exams in general.
I did my best but it wasn't good enough and I was really disappointed. I'm not sure where to go from here and it's taking a mental toll on me, my relationships, my social life and my connection to my career because of how much focus is put on getting licensed in our industry.
This is not an easy process and everyone's path is different. I guess NCARB is doing "what is reasonably required" to help a sample group of people. A sample that I seem to keep falling short of. A percentage that some how seems to not include me. I won't make this post about bashing an entity that won't change.
This is just for the people that have been doing this for years and not passing. The years go by and you are watching others surpass you. It can feel like you're stuck or paralyzed.
You're Not Alone!
I'm going to eventually build the courage to take another exam and I'll be back to post about it here. In a way I think this will allow me to grieve better and move on.
R.I.P to my 3rd PjM exam!

I was in the same boat. I just passed PjM on my fourth attempt. I had studied and studied before, but I think what really made the difference this time was paying super close attention to how the questions are worded. The questions have a tendency to have tricky vocabulary or require changing units (math problems) to get the correct answer.
I don't have any excellent advice - I just studied until I couldn't possibly remember one more thing!

I've take PcM 6 time and PjM once. I haven't past any of them I also have been on this journey off and on since 2019. It helps to continue studying even if you failed. I didn't do that in the past. At this point I want to keep going, but tough for all the reasons you mentioned above and also these test aren't cheap. I just wish the questions that I was exposed to were more straight forward in the way it reads.
When you do pass all 7 exams it will be nice to look back at your post and tell yourself, "I did that".

Thank you all for sharing and for the encouragement! In some way it helps that I'm not the only one feeling this way. I really want to get to get to the other side of this journey but we all have our own journeys to walk.
If any of you are interested in a study group meetup please let me know :)! I wish you all the best! -
Ok send me an email at dwinessa.pratt26@gmail.com so we can arrange a time to meet up. I need to schedule the next exam and I'm thinking I'll just do PjM again to build on what I know.

I am now focusing on CE. I took the Young Architect Academy Bootcamp with Michael Riscica https://youngarchitect.com/about/, and it's been amazing to have a strong support group and study/practice within meet-ups. I enjoy the community surrounding my process now and highly recommend it to anyone needing that kind of support.
