    Victor,

If I knew you in person, I would give you a big hug first.... This is no any other words I could describe how stupid and useless these exams are. They are not really testing our knowledge or what we know in the real world.
I wish NCARB one day will wake up and recognize their exams do not make any better architects, maybe worse. Passing these exams are more like pure luck.

I am on the same boat here. Here is my last one and my sixth tries? I stopped counting.... tbh too shame to remember.  Anyway, keep at it! almost there tho.

Here is my study group link. If you need some motivation or anything, feel free to join us.

I feel the same exact way. I just failed my 5th attempt at PPD and I am extremely depressed and hopeless. I still PPD and PDD and don't know how to proceed. I am exhausted and mentally drained, I agree these exams are pure luck.

I’ve started reading MEEB. If the lettering was bigger and not onion skin paper, it would 3 times the size it is now. This is going to take some time.

Vuctor that's such a hard book in my opinion it's impossible to master all the content of the book without studying for a year in college. I believe its extremely unfair that the Architecture degress have not prepared us in anyway for the ARE exams. Most of the Architecture degrees are all focused on design and almost none of the are contend is coveted in School.

It was recommended reading. I am going to look up some other resources as well. It is an incredible amount to absorb, especially for this exam. And there is probably a handful of references related to exam material.

Victor I believe most people that pass including myself is 60% luck and 40% Knowledge of the material. We just have to keep on trying until we pass. I passed Pa after 6 attempts.

Victor I feel ur pain as I am experiencing the the same pain and frustration. As a religious Jew I firmly believe I will pass the second god wants me to pass.

Every person has a certain amount of pain and frustration destined on this world, I would rather have the pain of failing a test over any health problems with me or any of my children!!

It's a tough road, keep at it Victor! Getting 5/6 of the way along it shows remarkable ability and perseverance, couldn't be further from horrible, I wish I was that far myself. It will be a great achievement when this last one finally goes your way. Good luck!

I just passed my 5th try. It is deflating. However, i got Amberbook and also the MEEB book. I would say those 2 along with the FEMA 454 are vital to passing. Quite frankly i do not see any other way i could have passed without those items.

Garret I agree that Amber is well worth it. My score was very good and I really hope I will pass it next time around.

Quote is something along those lines, but at every fail I repeated that, got back up and gave it my all... again.

    You can do it.

    Victor,

I failed PPD six times. You read that right. I passed on the seventh. Do not be discouraged. I promise it's worth the effort, tears, frustration, and struggle. It is one of the harder tests in the series, and it's meant to be challenging.

Try the YA Bootcamp, it helped me over the hurdle having a support group I could study content with. It guided my focus on content that was important to the exam, since it's one of the exams that has the most resourced material on their matrix at the time I took it. Aimlessly studying thousands of pages and dozens of books was causing me my frustration, and the group ensured I was looking in the right places.

You don't fail unless you give up. Every non-passed exam is just an expensive practice test. You got this, keep going.

Heather, 7 times? Congrats, but NCARB has made this overly extreme for this many people to fail and to fail this many times. Is there a website for the YA boot camp? I having a hard time believing all the recommended study material. There has to be an more simplistic method.

My first fail was my best score, which was good, and ever since my scores have gotten worse.

Victor, you are not alone on this, right after graduation, i was young and self confident that my own intelligence can conquer the exams, same as my friends, we didn't study, or bearly look through the materials then sign up for 7 test in consequtive 2-3 days, then got the absolutely failure results, most of my friends they changed their careers, only couple of them stay in this business. in a long rally, we are beaten up by reality, i have experienced from 4.0 - now 5.0, i have to keep my head down study and study, as matter of fact, you have to get some sort of luck to pass the test. I just failed my third trail on PDD, which i think was not hard for this time, but still a fail. so i need to go back pull myself together ,and try agian. i think you and I share some common ground, i have about 18yrs experience, know a bit more in real life may be not good for your test as well, cuz they are different. so just let you konw, step by step, you are in good shape, and english is not my first language, you can feel how nasty was, when I read those AIA contract doc. so, just keep it going, we can do this.
