Hi Stuart, don’t focus on the score, try to use the questions to learn the content instead. That’s how I designed them. Visit the chapters and sections I mention in the feedbacks of each question to a deeper dive. People always find my question harder than the exam. So I wouldn’t reschedule just based on the practice scores. Hope this helps. Best of luck!

    Hi Stuart,

I have my PDD exam scheduled in a week and I am in the same situation as you. Can you tell which resources you used to pass PDD?

    TIA!

    Hi Indrani!

I completed the Amberbook, reviewed diagrams from MEEB (Mechanical & Electrical Equipment for Buildings), Building Construction: principles, materials, and systems ( skimmed the chapters of construction methods where I felt the concepts weren’t sticking), and did Elif’s ARE Questions.

This playlist was recommended to me and I would watch videos on the bus:

Also I would browse the Architect Studio Companion on mechanical systems that were fuzzy to me.

    Stuart,
Being a “construction guy” turned architect, I love that much of your YouTube playlist consisted of actual construction explainer videos by trades people like myself. This is by far the way to go for younger aspiring architects who have little to no practical field experience but need to understand what all of those lines on paper actually mean. And by “field experience” I’m not referring to CE, but to actual construction experience.

My favorite analogy is learning how to design a surgery… getting years of experience designing surgeries… passing an exam on designing surgeries… and becoming a licensed designer of surgeries without ever having performed an actual surgery.

Also, Josué Diaz from Archicorner is a MUST for understanding code stuff. Watch everything he’s put out and then what them all again. He was my go-to!

Taking my final exam, PDD on Saturday and really looking forward to being done.

    Congratulations STUART!!
