What are the different types of sheathing and when should you use each?

  Plywood, OSB & gypsum board probably cover 95% of sheathing that gets installed. The decision could be made on cost, bracing capacity, fire rating and combustibility, airtightness and waterproofing strategy (e.g. are you using a specialty coated product like ZIP), the siding/cladding system - basically it's a completely context dependent decision.
