capacity of means of egress components?
Just took the practice exam and am confused on this question.
For line #5, where does the multiplier 0.15 inches per occupant come from?
I am familiar with 0.2 for doors and 0.3 for stairs, not sure how 0.15 is used?

For fully sprinkled buildings, the factor is 0.15:

Thank you Mr. Chen for your response! However, I am still confused because it says under the exception that "the means of egress capacity factor of .15 inch per occupant in buildings equipped throughout with an automatic sprinkler system" AND an "Emergency voice/alarm communication system...". Please let me know if I am not reading this correctly. The case study does not say anything about a voice alarm system.

The key sentence in this question is: “During the renovations…and sprinkler systems will be upgraded to serve the new use classifications.”
Well, for a church building, if the sprinkler systems will be upgraded to serve the new use classifications, it means they WILL have to have emergency voice/alarm communication system and any other related items mandated by the codes. Hopefully, this answers your questions.
