PPD/PDD - Older version of Building Codes Illustrated?

The ARE 5.0 reference matrix recommends Building Codes Illustrated for the 2018 IBC, but I have an older copy that covers the 2012 IBC.

Would it be a waste of time and effort to use the 2012 version in my studies for PPD/PDD?

  Emily, copy and paste into a browser, the top is 2018 and the bottom is 2021...hope that they help.
