Required Separation of Occupancies

Hello, I am reading the occupancy separation chart on one of the practice problems for PDD NCARB practice exam. You must select the proper wall rating for select walls on a floor plan based off of the occupancy chart. One room is an Electrical Room (S-1 Occupancy) and the adjacent room is a Fire Apparatus Bay (S-2 Occupancy). The floor is sprinklered. When you look at the chart and start at S-2 and navigate to where it crosses the S-1 Sprinklered column, the chart says the rating should be 1 Hr (shown in red). However, when you look at the S-1 row and navigate to the S-2 Sprinklered column it shows no required rating or (--) (show in blue below). In this case do you just go with the more stringent requirement of the two?

The chart only includes one vale for each pair…the other one is always a dash to let you know to look at the first one. That’s why the dashes make a triangle on the chart…so look at the cell combination with a value and ignore the one with a dash.
