PA question about Office Interior Layout Efficiency
Per the information in the Problem Seeking regarding an Office Open-Plan Layout vs Enclosed-Plan Layout, can anyone explain why the Interior Layout Efficiency for an Enclosed-Plan Layout is higher (0.7) than in Open-Plan Layout (0.6)? I thought there is more secondary circulation for an enclosed-plan layout, but it looks there is more for the Open-Plan Layout. What exactly this means ? An encosed layout is more efficient than an open space layout?
Thank you

Daniela,
I understand what you are asking, but the difference between .61 and .68 is miniscule.
The overall useable area with the open plan is .83, and the enclosed plan is .75.
I think it may be because open plans usually assign a tiny cubicle per each person. If you were assigned an office (with walls) it's always going to be bigger than the standard cubicle. And if you work in cube-land there's a need for conference rooms, and executive offices that are larger.
Hope this makes sense! Good luck studying!
