WALL CHOICES IN PRACTICE EXAM PROBLEM
In below question why is wall C chosen between conference room and open office?
My answer was D because it has glass as in question but the correct answer is C because it has the sound insulation so if this is because of the first requirement that walls surrounding conference room need sound insulation then both walls should be C not one C and one D

Yvette,
I see your point, because the wall type D doesn't mention sound transmission. Maybe it's implied because the description of D does say it's to be used between the board rm and the open office and it's glass. It does make sense that the other conference room wall is C because there's cabinetry on the other side.
These NCARB practice exams seem to have a lot of issues like this...

The wall on the plan is shown as a solid wall and the glazed walls are shown in dashed lines...NCARB is expecting you to pick up on the way the walls are shown on the plan. Very similar to how you chose wall type F the one with the Furring (in my opinion). The tricky one for me on this question was at the Jan. Cl. because the question stated wanting to save on materials, which lead me to want to pick the partition that only went up 6 inches above the ceiling but then I remembered that everything needed to go to the deck for sound transmission or have lateral support...very loaded question.
