    Yvette,

    I see your point, because the wall type D doesn't mention sound transmission.  Maybe it's implied because the description of D does say it's to be used between the board rm and the open office and it's glass.  It does make sense that the other conference room wall is C because there's cabinetry on the other side.

    These NCARB practice exams seem to have a lot of issues like this...

    I ran into the same problem.  Saying that the wall should be type "C" seems to imply that we should be prioritizing information in the image over what is specifically required in the question, which seems backwards.

    The wall on the plan is shown as a solid wall and the glazed walls are shown in dashed lines...NCARB is expecting you to pick up on the way the walls are shown on the plan. Very similar to how you chose wall type F the one with the Furring (in my opinion). The tricky one for me on this question was at the Jan. Cl. because the question stated wanting to save on materials, which lead me to want to pick the partition that only went up 6 inches above the ceiling but then I remembered that everything needed to go to the deck for sound transmission or have lateral support...very loaded question.
