Preliminary Results Not Showing
I took my PA exam today, and when it should have shown my preliminary results, instead it showed a blank white screen and then jumped right to the "End of Exam" page. I have a couple of friends taking the exam as well who have all reported similar things happening.
Are there any currently known glitches causing this? I know full results don't take too long to process but it would be nice to see since they are offered.

Hi Samuel,
We have tested provisional feedback for all exam forms currently in use and can confirm everything is functioning properly. We do apologize that you were unable to see feedback yesterday following your exam. Your official score should be available in your NCARB Record today.

NCARB Experts,
No, YOUR software is NOT functioning properly. There is evidence all over this NCARB Community with many different people are experiencing the same exact problem. What you just did right here is called "Gas Lighting", look it up.
You tell Candidates to report any software problems, but then insist there isnt any problems and everything is working fine.
I just wished NCARB followed the same level of ethics and professionalism that NCARB demands from their Stakeholders. The next generation of Architects deserves better.

Hi Michelle,
Please report all exam related issues to NCARB Customer Service as soon as possible. They will provide assistance.

Michael Riscica thank you for your comment. After my PDD exam crashes today (all reported to all authorities) I feel the same way, and I know so many of us do too. I'm embarrassed for the United States architectural licensing process as NCARB should be embarrassed of their decision to stick with contracting to a completely incompetent Software/Web App company. It pains me to know that all this is is a money making machine. I'm off to your website to fill out your independent survey.

@MichaelRiscica thank you for standing up for us all that have experienced (every time) issues with these exams. Can we move forward with the surveys and the information that you have gathered and bring a suit? This has been happening for far too long and we need to ask for accountability and have this finally changed., otherwise this is just a scam and racketeering to drain money from us.

I’m just starting to wonder a lot of things… If these cut scores are an specific number that people need to score in order to pass a division (let’s say EVERYONE needs to get 65% on PDD) then why is it that there’s a range difference of about 6% in each division? What are those flexible cut scores? Who gets to pass on a 62% and who gets to pass on a 68% for example? I’m wondering because consistently white men year after year are who have the highest passing percentages (them being the actual minority) as opposed to any other race minority and women. Are we still saying that white men are smarter than any one else? Or that they are given better work opportunities and or better education? Any of those statements anyways seems very troublesome. Are they the ones being able to pass on a 62% while the rest of us need to score a 68%? And yes we used to have to fill out a survey each time right before getting the “preliminary score” where we were asked a lot of these questions. Race, gender, work, hours study… etc. I believe we all candidates should demand more transparency because all of this seems very suspicious. All of the sudden I see a diverse Board of Directors when usually it was mostly white men. And coincidentally in June 2021 this came out “ Earlier this year, NCARB’s Diversity Collaborative Task Force was charged with reviewing the Board of Directors' “Policy on Diversity and Inclusion,” Also, coincidentally this time I didn’t get a survey when I took the exams in July and August. Certainly it seems that there is a big problem with diversity and inclusion in this field and I’m wondering why in 2021 we still have to wonder about this and we still have to demand this kind of diversity across the field, the employees, directors, and even passing scores and licensure…

Yes. I have not gotten the preliminary result either. I suppose that is because I have not taken the survey? And the proctor check my exam detail. She text me I am good that I click that exit application and abandon exam. Or else, my screen will show you completed exam for ever, if I don't click the exit application and abandon when I click exit.

Hi Xiaomin,
We responded to your new post of this subject here.

Hi Francois,
What you are describing is not typical. Exam results are displayed the next day, unless the jurisdiction has an additional score report delay or the exam is flagged for security reasons. We will forward your information over to our Customer Relations team directly and get your issue resolved. Thanks for your post!

Hi, I'm posting here again - 3 months later - because today I took an exam and once again was not even offered an opportunity to see preliminary results. Has this been eliminated?? I used the new ProProctor system and as soon as I finished the exam that was the end. Nada. I have to say, it's really frustrating. I would really appreciate an explanation.
-
Hi Elizabeth,
We have not eliminated the option to see provisional feedback. You must navigate through all closing screens within your exam to see the feedback. While using ProProctor, make sure you don't hit the "Exit" button in the upper right until you have viewed all screens. This will end your exam prior to the option to see provisional feedback. I also recommend that you report your issue to our Customer Relations team.

Hi John,
Thank you for your post. Please report your issue to NCARB Customer Relations so we can investigate the issue.

Same thing happened to me today. I agreed to provisional feedback and it just went to the end exam screen and then just ended the exam. So I'm reporting live actual knowledge of this happening right after my exam today. I just hate having the expectation that I will get a notice of pass/fail after an exam to only not be told and then have to wait for my official results. I would rather not be told that there is provisional feedback and just have to wait till I get my official results. Just sucks....false promises.

Interesting. NCARB strongly believes this issues is a User problem not a software problem. The even recently wrote a whole blog post about it. https://www.ncarb.org/blog/how-to-view-provisional-feedback-the-are
Heather, after your experience today, do you think there is a software problem regarding provisional feedback???

Update,
I took C&E yesterday and it finally worked for me. I would like to comment that it is just a text saying something like "Based on your test results you likely passed ... etc etc etc this is not an official score." My opinion on this is that they should make this text larger / more significant / bold and not blend into the rest of the text so that you read it properly and it really pops out at you. But again, it did work for me this time.
