Whiteboard - is it accessible before the timing clock starts?

I will have PcM exam in 2 weeks, and I was practicing using the whiteboard since scratch paper is not allowed anymore. I would like to be able to write down on the whiteboard the financial formulas before the clock starts, but I was wondering if it is possible now?
