PDD and PPD Pass - ARE's done!
Just received my passing scores last Friday for both PPD and PDD which I took during the revised testing format. I have to say it is a relief to finally be finished !!
It took me a little over a year to pass all 6 all of the tests, with a bit of a delay with the prometric closures during covid. Testing sequence was PCM,CE,PM,PA,PPD,PDD.
I had a couple fails along the way, but when you fail, you just need to reschedule your failed test right away and keep on studying while the information is still fresh.
I got into a rhythm for studying, usually about 1-2 hrs of study a night, with a few hours on the weekend. I pretty much kept to this schedule for the course of my testing.
My main study materials were from the NCARB matrix. Some of the publications on the matrix list you can find on-line for free if you look around enough. I also used some of the more inexpensive practice exams such as PPI, Weare, Elifs, to identify where my weaknesses were.
One book you will definitely need a hardcopy of is IBC, also in my hardcopy library is Building codes illustrated. Most of the other required readings I have in digital format.
For everyone still studying, keep at it and good luck!

Hi Jay, I took PA first as I had read it was a good transition from the contract exams to the technical exams. Looking back I think you could take PA, PPD or PDD in any order , as they all seem to focus on slightly different content. I would say get the reference material from the study matrix and some practice exams and just dive into one of them.
I had to retake PA and PPD, but I just rescheduled them right away, and expanded my study materials for my retest. Reading thought these forums will give a good idea of what to study for each individual exam.
