Prometric closed without notice, disappointing NCARB- no help
I had PPD scheduled for today Feb 1st at 8:30 am in New York city.
I arrived at the testing center at 7:50 am, only to find a group of people waiting to be let into Prometric. The security guard for the building would not let us in because there was no one from Prometric there, the office as closed. It was snowing outside and there is inclement weather here in New York City.
It was very frustrating to have received absolutely no notice, no emails, or no warning that inclement weather would shut down Prometric. I stood there in the snow freezing until 8:30 am, when was my actual exam alloted time to see if something would change.
I called both NCARB and Prometric multiple times with no response. Finally I got through to NCARB and they said they cannot help me reschedule the exam. I have to wait 3-5 business days to reschedule with a new seat. This is terribly disappointing that NCARB has no ability to help a candidate resolve situations of cancellations without notice in the moment. I do not understand the reason why I am unable to reschedule the exam today. It was hard enough to get a slot given the current covid situation and lack of appotiment availability. I have been studying for months for PPD, which I was planning to take before PDD (scheduled for the 13th).
Overall, great disappointmenet that NCARB has no ability to help me reschedule the appotiment as soon as possible.

I experienced the exact same thing, I was probably was at the same test center that you were. It's been 4 days since, I've been on hold with Prometric for an hour today and gave up after holding for 2 hours yesterday. I'm also shocked that we never received acknowledgement of the cancellation before or after the fact, and have been left hanging for days after the incident. We all need to move forward with our exams, we can't sit here and wait days on end before they get their act together. If you manage to speak with someone please let them know that there were others affected by this unannounced testing center closure (and I will do the same if I manage to speak with anyone other than a robot).
NCARB employees - if you see these posts please DO something about it.
Neglecting to inform candidates of a testing center closure and allowing candidates to travel to the testing center in the middle of a pandemic is just straight up irresponsible. Worse is that this hasn't even been acknowledged by Prometric or NCARB yet - my NCARB record simply says "awaiting results".
