Webcam issues - autofocus
Why has it never been mentioned before by NCARB that webcam needs an autofocus (not a fixed focused/always focused feature when camera is preset for a specific focus range) for ID verification? Thank you.

Hi Valerie,
We have communicated this information out to all candidates via email, page 13 of the ARE Guidelines, our blog, and our website. Prior to scheduling an online proctored exam, please make sure to read the ARE Guidelines and the Prometric ProProctor User Guide.

Hello Nick,
Thank you for your response. It says "Your camera SHOULD have the ability to autofocus to allow the proctor to fully visualize your
ID, your surroundings, and yourself during the check-in process and throughout testing" not must (page 13 https://www.ncarb.org/sites/default/files/ARE-5-Guidelines.pdf). That sounds like a good option and not a requirement. Also this information was not included in Online System Requirements Guide https://www.ncarb.org/sites/default/files/GuidetoOnlineProctoring.pdf (which refers to webcam resolution only).Thank you again for clarification.
