    Hi Roman,

    The shaft and pit dimensions would already be shown on the arch plans.  By the time the submittals are coming in, the shaft wall (which are typically part of the structural core of the building) may already be built.

    The answer seems correct.

    Outside of the shaft wall details provided by the architect, are there shop drawings from the elevator contractor that are reviewed by the GC and the Architect?

    It is an existing condition/renovation - the 21st and 22nd floor of a 25 story building...the shaft and pit have been established when the "existing building" was constructed. And then obviously, the hydraulic elevator is not an option as they are probably removing a hydraulic to retrofit a traction elevator or high speed.
