Sorry to hear Victor, I know how devastating that can feel. Have you taken PDD yet?

This is my last exam. Third attempt for the year, now I have to wait until Jan 2024. I keep hoping the results are an error, but we will never know since they won’t help you at all. Tough to do better when you can’t define your area of need. I know, study everything, even harder.

Man, I'm sorry. This exam is downright awful. I failed twice last year and I ended up taking a long break from it -  I'm preparing for my third retake this week, also my last one.... I too am nervous. I keep saying if I can't pass it this time, I don't even know to to begin to prepare for a retake - I don't know how to study any more than I already am.

This exam feels like a random collection of questions, seemingly impossible to prepare for. PPD and PDD were the two for me where it felt like the exam questions do not appear even close to what is provided in all of the study material. There's nothing to say other than enjoy your summer and get back on it when you're ready to take it again.

Thanks Lauren. I feel the same about the material. I studied 3 differing sources. And your right, I am taking a long summer to regroup and hopefully come up with a better plan for retake.

Victor, I feel you. I just took it for my fourth time today. I chose not to look at the projected results bc I couldn't handle it at that exact moment but man did it feel bad, I think a fail is almost certain. So now I'm looking at taking it for a fifth time, probably, and I'm at a total loss. Just really bummed, and I totally sympathize.

I’ll share my scores. 518, 508, 487. Each progressively worse and each time increased studying. Enter a brief break, I plan to schedule some meetings with some mentored to figure all of this out.

It worked... I just got my score and after dreaming about all the questions I knew I missed, and I should have answered this instead of that... by some miracle it was a pass! Fourth times a charm I guess. Good luck to you guys. I have no advice except even a sh*tty feeling during/after the test could still turn out ok! And my three fails caused me some real trauma.

Thank you! I don't see where my score is on the score report. It basically just says my name and personal info and PASS at the top of the page. If you help me locate it I'm happy to share!

I forgot, they don't give you a score if you pass

The whole process is so opaque. It would still be helpful to know where I scored well and where I'm still lacking, if the whole theory here is that we're doing this to aid in our careers...

Talia, I actually emailed NCARB about this issue.  I asked if it was possible to get a score report for a passed exam, for my own education.  I'd like to know if I'm severely deficient in one area, but just made up for it with the other sections.  They just responded with "that's a great idea, we'll make a note of that" - which i'm sure means nothing.

It seems so counterintuitive that we don't get a report with a pass.  If the goal is to prove that we are qualified to call ourselves "Architects", I feel that it's pretty obvious that we need to know what areas of knowledge we lack...

    Congrats Talia!!

I am feeing in the same boat as you were right now. Just took PPD today and I am not hopeful that it will be a pass. Currently researching all the questions I'm sure I got wrong. This is the 2nd time I have taken this exam. After a VERY long break. I really forgot how just crazy and difficult they word these exam questions. I was feeling so confident in my studies before the exam. I am so excited for you though in your pass!!! :)
