Not enough USB ports on my laptop- is an external USB hub ok?

Hi,

I am hoping to take the exam on a macbook laptop with an external monitor. of course shutting the macbook screen and only using the monitor. But there are not enough built-in USB ports in the macbook to hold everything I need:

1. mouse

2. keyboard

3. external webcam

4. ethernet-to-USB converter dongle

5. I'm not sure it has an HDMI port for external monitor so I may need to have a converter dongle for HDMI to USB.

 

Is it ok to use one of those USB hubs and/or converter dongles? NOT the same thing as a docking station, right?

  Caroline,

  Yes, a USB splitter should be fine. NCARB recommends you do a test run with the USB converter to ensure PSI's security is allowing it.
