Hi, I am taking the PPD practice exam on the NCARB website. The question states that an architect is developing a site for a car dealership and wants to select a building site that maintains existing site drainage and landscaping and that the owner wants parking visible from traffic. I understand why B is the answer but where I am confused is that my studies show that building parallel to contours is most efficient to mitigate regrading/removing earth. Is building parallel to the contours not most efficient for drainage? Or is that a separate topic? It appears what's most efficient for drainage based off of this question is building perpendicular to the contours.
