Foundation Types
What are the differences between each foundation type?
What type of soil is good for each type?
-
Friction piles are used in sandy/silty conditions where the soil shifts easily. Sites like a river bed.
The slab is easily used on rocky sites.
And a full foundation wall is needed in areas where the frost deep is deep. Footings are designed to spread the load of the building across a larger area, based on whatever the soil capacity is.
Hope this helps. Maybe review the Fundamentals of Construction book.
