Sound Transmission between adjacent spaces
Can someone explain please why carpet will reduce sound transmission between adjacent spaces? Carpet will reduce the transmission of impact noise and will not address the issue of transmitting sound to the adjacent spaces. I understand that raised accessible subfloor is ideal for a flexible configuration on computer station, then I guess the key word will be "minimize" sound transmission? I'm very confused.
