Study materials funding

So, getting back on the horse after many years, just scheduled PcM.

 

Generally, I believe its understood that your employer, if they're fair and reasonable, will pay for your exams. It's an investment on their future....

 

What about study materials, should the employer pay for that, as well (within reason)? I can understand both sides, curious what others understand to be the accepted practice...
