Thanks Kurt and Benjamin! You two and many others have been very helpful as I worked through the study materials and exams. It is funny that the instant feedback didn't allay my anxiety, as I was still a bit worried until I saw the official pass.

I do not have much to add to Benjamin's excellent original post but for this.

My primary study materials were Architectural Graphic Standards, Architects Studio Companion, FEMA 454, and BCI. I pulled out my structures class notes and textbook from school and that worked for me. I used Brightwood  as a self assessment and review.

I worked as a tradesman for many years before beginning my Architecture career and the experience of being on site was helpful.

Structures: I think I had one beam spacing calculation and one 'method of joints' type calculation. Much more important is an understanding of structural systems.

It is important to be very familiar with Construction Documents, contractual obligations, MasterFormat Division 00 & 01, budgeting, cost estimating and design alternatives.

This test is an assessment of both one's broad understanding of an entire project and nearly every detail that goes into it.

    Hey Edward,

Great tips! You should share your structural notes with the world, you could be the new Jenny for 5.0.

    That would be great.

    But Edward can't be the new Jenny.  He's already P-Diddy, R. A.

I feel like I'm hitting the same point studying for PDD that I previously hit for PPD...  hoping I'm ready, and not really sure what the heck else to read!

I appreciate you two guys write-ups, and hope to join you on the "other side".
