I would love to hear any feedback on this too. I have not taken it yet, but really appreciate you sharing your experience with it and where you feel you had troubles. Thank you.

There are a lot of great tips in the PcM section of this forum, so I recommend starting there.

I found that for this exam it was really important to know and understand the contracts. Reading them thoroughly may be enough for most people, but I felt like I needed a bit more explanation. The Schiff Hardin lectures, available for free online, were really crucial for me. They've been linked to several times on these forums, so have a look and a listen.

    Good luck!

Thanks so much...started listening to them today! I am just beginning this process and it is all so overwhelming as I have been out of school for a while and am just getting back into the profession after some time off!

    Thanks Erica,

I actually printed out and rally took to heart your exam tips and I really appreciate it! I am planning on moving on to PjM and CE. After reading the Handbook for PjM and CE, and after reading through posts in these two divisions, I found that these 3 divisions have some overlap. So, I have a new game plan and will be studying both PjM and CE material for the PjM exam. Hopefully this will benefit me now knowing what I need to improve on for PcM.

I also took the PcM exam yesterday and failed. :( It was much harder than I expected. I studied the AHPP Student Edition, Pluralsight multiple times, as well as payed for a practice exam bundle from DesignerHacks. I would say the DesignerHacks practice exam was not a good indication of what the exam was going to be. It was way too easy. I cant say it didnt help at all but it didnt help to prepare me well enough. However, I am glad that I got a taste of what the tests are like and I will be sure to ace it next time! I would love tips on some study material that would accurately prepare me for the PcM and help me to understand and apply the information in the AHPP. I think my biggest hurdle was understand how the information learned is applied in everyday situations. Also, I would love some ideas on practice exam resources that are on the same level and format as the actual exam.

Never great to hear about folks not passing, preparing is a lot of work - but everything you've done so far is a step in the right direction!

I took Practice Management yesterday and did pass! This was my first test and I really appreciated all of the advice on this site - especially those who recommended the AHPP as a main source - it really does cover the topics, and if a section gives you trouble they always list additional resources at the end.  I purchased a used Ballast Practice exam book (always search eBay for used resources - they are on there and it can save you some money as well as help out the person who bought it new!). I found some of the questions to be a little maddening - but do think they are written similarly to the handbook and the test and their explanations are a good source of study material, they help you think about how to approach the questions.

Many others posted about the time being limited and knowing that was helpful too, don't spend too much time overthinking a single question - move on!

On to Project Management, hoping that some of my prep will crossover to this next section - good luck everyone!
