I like the vignettes better than the case studies. I think I may have made a critical mistake in transitioning

Really? Have you found out how you did on the exam? Time pressure or can explain why you didn't like the case study?

I transitioned to 5.0 after passing the required PPP, SPD, CDS in 4.0 - I have taken both PDD + PPD 5.0 and failed.  I was using my 4.0 study material and found it very overwhelming to know what to study as both tests cover such a broad range of topics.  I much prefer the new interface of 5.0 but I wish I stayed in 4.0 because it was predictable and much easier to focus study efforts. My strategy was to transition so I could skip 2 tests but now, I have to retake 2 tests and buy more study material....

Thank you ladies for your feedback, I really need to consider what I want to do! Did you find the demo exam in NCARB prepared you for the style of the 5.0 exams?

I've only taken 5.0 exams, and I've enjoyed the format so far.  But the comments about transitioning from 4.0 into 5.0 are interesting, and really not completely surprising.  Of course, there are the success stories -- those who are in and out in 5 exams, which is great -- but it would seem that testing in one format and then switching mid-stream is bound to have challenges. I think that I would personally have trouble with it.

Sarah, the demo exam will prep you for the exam style just fine.  That part ain't no thing -- it's really just clicking around on obvious stuff -- it's nothing like learning the vignette software.
