I'd like to help you with your question, however I don't understand what your actually describing because if the question within the Ballast exam says 'What is the voltage of the service obtained at each tap?' - that is one thing. But, if your talking about a diagram that the question is referring to having two separate line voltages or power carrying capacitors then that is slightly different. As the diagram would remain the same depending on the quesion? The voltage 'at each tap' would be determined by knowing the location of each conductor and ground if not labeled and then calculating the different values. I guess you would have to provide more direct info about what exactly the problem is asking?

I was rather flummoxed by this question too when I took the practice exam today also, Gregory, here's the question in it's entirety...

    The correct answer is (D).

According to the 4.0 ballast practice questions I have, the 277/480 is diagrammatically similar, but requires step down transformers to convert higher voltages to the 120 volts used at receptacles and would be included in a diagram.

The Amber book has a good graphic showing the difference.
