    Hi Kurt,

That book is available through the AIA, and it's a handy compilation of AIA contracts and commentary.  If you're unable to get a copy of the book, be sure to at least review the contracts listed for CE in the 5.0 Handbook.

Michelle, Jared had mentioned in one of the videos you posted that the AIA has made the most common ten AIA contract documents available to those studying for the exams through the NCARB site. I'm having trouble finding that. . . can you point me in the right direction?

    Hi Michael,

You're looking in the right place, but the contract resources are only available to candidates with active test eligibilities.  These documents are copyrighted by the AIA, which has made them available to ARE candidates only for the purpose of preparing for the ARE.  If you don't have active test eligibilities, you won't see the link in your Record.

    Kurt,

I've actually found that book very helpful. It breaks down the contract documents in layman terms and provides commentary for all the different provisions including outlining where the provision came from and why it's important. That said, it's very expensive. If your firm will pay for it, it's worth having in the office. The contracts book and the handbook of professional practice have been the most helpful for me so far.

    Hi Michael,

You can find the AIA contracts through your NCARB Record. They'll be on the right hand side under Quick Links, AIA Contract Documents Examination Resources.

    Good luck!

Chelsea, would you go through that to be sure that is the right way to find the contract documents? I don't see "AIA Contract Documents Examination Resources" and some exploration turned up nothing. See below. I'm sure it is obvious, but I just can't find it.

    Hi Michael,

Hmm, odd. Mine shows up on the right hand side under the Transcript Request Form. I'm not sure why yours wouldn't be the same. Hopefully NCARB can give you better direction than me!
