How many structural calculations should we expect to see on PDD? I signed up for this test with only a few weeks to study in order to get the "Free Retake". Because I don't have very much time, I'm wondering if I should spend any time trying to re-learn structural calculations that I have not done since college.
This brings me to my next question. Has anyone done any structural calculations in actual practice? I've been working for 8 years at three different firms (commercial and residential) and have never had to do a single structural calculation. Our engineers do all the calcs. It sounds like 5.0 is trying to align itself closer to actual architectural practice, so my question for NCARB is, have you considered removing them from the test all together?
