Jenna - I've utilized the same resources, in addition to the references recommended by the NCARB Handbook. I find the Ballast Review Manual to be an easy read and a good summary of the information. I have found the Practice Problems and the Practice Exam to be helpful for the feel of the question types, but getting your hands on the demo exam in your NCARB record was more helpful in terms of the look and feel of the test. Ballast is historically a good resource. Good luck!

I'm also using the new Ballast books.  There's quite a few typos LOL!  It's definitely a 1st edition!  Seems to be very broad thus far.

Before I bought the Review Manual, Practice Problems, and Practice Exam, I checked out reviews written for their 4.0 materials, since the 5.0 materials are brand new and there's no solid data on them yet.  Most of the comments for the old materials were positive.  There were some negative ones, particularly for one of the 4.0 exam division review books (Sorry, I can't remember which one).

At least, there seems to be a good track record at PPI.

It would be excellent if we could get some comments from people who've studied with the Ballast materials and have passed the exams.  In some of the other threads, people are talking about how they're currently taking the exams, but there doesn't seem to be much info from people who've passed the tests.  That's what I'd really be interested in hearing.

I've been trying to figure out what supplements I'll need besides these materials.

There are quite a few different publications listed in the NCARB Handbook, I can't imagine we'll need to locate every single one and read it cover to cover.  Are there specific resources listed there that you're using?

The Ballast website has an addenda sheet that lists / corrects the errors in the manual. Good to have as a slip page.

I've also noticed that the Ballast 5.0 manual has a lot of the same text and examples that were in the 4.0 version. Looks the old material was sorted to align with the new exam format. There's obviously new content too.

As for hearing from those who have passed, thinking with the low enrollment thus far, people haven't yet received their scores. I understand NCARB is waiting for more test takers in order to establish the cut score and release grades. I took PcM on 12/19. Hearing it's 6/10 weeks for scores to be released during the cut score period. Rolling clocks are supposed be adjusted to account for this.

    Thomas:

Yes, they have errata on there.  Haven't checked it in a few weeks.  We can be sure it'll expand over the next few months.

So nobody who took a 5.0 exam has their results yet?

Are there specific resources listed in the Handbook that you've used?
