2-Way vs. 1-Way Slabs
Are 2-way and 1-way slabs equally feasible for cast-in-place structure? Or is there a cost / transportation / production concern that would favor one type of slab for cast-in-place applications over precast?

Eric, precast run as one way. They go on a linear truck bed so setting them up to distribute loads in both the X and Y direction would require too many tight connections between girders to bother. Cast in place could be one way (rectangular column bays in plan where one dimension measures far shorter and therefore easier to span than the other) or two way (square or near square column bays).—-Michael Ermann, Amber Book creator ….good luck!
