Looking at example question 31.2 in Ballast Review Manual. They are asking to calculate demand load for cold water but in the solution they use the total load values instead of the cold water values. Is that correct? If so, why?

  Hi Marian,

  If you are talking about the sample question on p31-17 in Ballast, I believe the answer is correct.  The cold water line values from Table 31.3 are used in the answer.  Urinals, water closets, and drinking fountains don't have any hot water running to them, so the cold water values are the total value.

  Did you ever find out why they used the total values for the service sink and the lavatories?
